Hairdressing Programme Manager

Penni WarnerPenni began her hairdressing career in a small South Waikato town where she qualified and then managed salon's before moving to Hamilton to become a partner in a farming venture. At the end of her farming career Penni travelled overseas for her Kiwi OE. Penni then worked in Te Awamutu managing a small salon before moving back to Hamilton, where she managed a salon in Chartwell Square for a few years.

In 1993 Penni began studying at Wintec to complete her Advanced Trade Certificate in Hairdressing and also her Certificate in Adult Teaching qualification. In 1994 she joined Wintec as a full-time Hairdressing tutor, later becoming Programme Manager. Whilst Penni has been at Wintec she has continued her studies - completing her Diploma in Adult Teaching and a Bachelor of Education with Massey University in 2004.

Penni predominantly teaches the up and coming hairdressing apprentices within the greater Waikato which keeps her in constant contact with the Hairdressing Industry. Penni is very creative and she has a strong interest in Fashion Design - and has been a competitor in the Wellington Wearable Arts several times - some of her work has been displayed in museums and a couple of her most famous pieces are a bra made out of coins (penny's) and another made of human hair. Penni enjoys other interests such as Equestrian; Motor Sports; Bonsai; and is a general animal lover.
