Leading to the New Zealand Certificate in Mechanical Engineering (Level 3)
If you’re interested in working as an operator or in a trade assistant role (under limited supervision), in areas of specialisation, in the mechanical engineering, construction, mechanical building services, manufacturing or fabrication industries, this is the programme for you.
This programme will give you a good foundation of hands-on skills and knowledge of the mechanical engineering industry and mechanical engineering theory.

As some of the practical components within this programme are considered high risk, students will be required to submit to an initial drug screen as per Wintec’s Drug and Alcohol Policy.
Applicants who have English as a second language must have a minimum IELTS Academic band score of 5 across all bands; or equivalent.

Graduates will have the skills and knowledge to work as: mechanical engineers, refrigeration/ heating/air-conditioning technicians, line mechanics, plastics technicians, mining engineers, fabrication engineers.
