Summary
Running an effective supply chain can mean the difference between make or break for many organisations. Upskilling your own or your team’s competency to optimise your supply chain is an increasingly recognised way of adding value to your organisation. This will help you to improve efficiencies and reduce costs.
This programme is for people currently working in or aspiring to work in roles that cover supply chain disciplines (including planning, sourcing materials, manufacturing, logistics, and returns). It is based on real-world examples from the industry.
Students will gain a broad knowledge of supply chain concepts, linkages, and practices. They will also gain an understanding of demand management, manufacturing planning and control, inventory management, procurement and distribution, and relevant legislation.
Delivered part-time, classes typically run between 4pm-7pm (this is except for the first class in each module that runs from 3pm-7pm). There is a tutor present throughout to guide students through the programme. It has been developed to cater to those in the workforce, and the class times are intended to fit around work and life commitments as best as possible.

Graduates will be capable of working in unsupervised supply chain management roles and may have some responsibility in supervising others.

Entry criteria
Candidates can gain entry to this programme by meeting one of the following criteria:
Based on your school achievement (secondary school study):
- 40 credits at NCEA Level 2; including 10 literacy credits at NCEA Level 2 and 10 numeracy credits at NECA Level 1;
- Or a recognised equivalent.
Based on study completed after school (tertiary study):
- Completed a relevant qualification at NZQF Level 3 or above;
- Or a recognised equivalent.
Based on discretionary entrance
Applicants who do not meet any of the entry options stated above and think they have what it takes to complete this programme can apply for discretionary entrance. The application is based on the applicant's ability to demonstrate a likelihood to succeed in the programme. The decision is at the discretion of the Head of School/Centre Director or their delegate. The ability to progress into further study depends on how successful the applicant is within the programme they apply and are accepted into under discretionary entrance.
Selection criteria
Candidates are in employment or have access to an organisation where they have supply chain operations responsibilities as part of their role.
English language requirements
Candidates who have English as a second language are required to have an International English Language Test System (IELTS) score of 5.5 in the academic band, with no individual band score lower than 5.0; or equivalent.
