Hair Design Year One
Upon successful completion of the Hair Design 1 programme, you will be awarded the New Zealand Certificate in Hairdressing (Salon Support)
A career in hairdressing can take you to exciting places. You can work in commercial salons or have your own business, or you can work on cruise ships, be backstage during fashion week, or have your creative vision printed in magazines!
Take the first step with this course and gain essential skills to prepare you for a hairdressing apprenticeship.
Learn in a real salon environment with work-based training to help you develop practical skills in hairdressing and salon operation (customer service, team work, time management, communication and self-management).
Course content also includes aspects of salon administration such as banking, reconciliation and stock control so you'll develop a knowledge of retail hair products and the merchandising and selling skills that are essential in any salon business.
You will also learn key hairdressing skills such as colouring, hair ups, and foiling. Classic and contemporary hair design are incorporated into all aspects of the training.
Embedded within our hairdressing programmes are internationally recognised City & Guilds qualifications (www.cityandguilds.com).
