Travel and Tourism
Wintec is an official City and Guilds approved centre. Our programmes have City and Guild programmes embedded in them, meaning that you'll not only be working towards an NZQA accredited qualification, you'll also be able to sit the exam for a City and Guilds qualification at the end of your studies. City and Guilds qualifications are recognised in over 100 countries around the world.
Booking tours, cruises, accommodation and flights, advising on holiday plans, insurance, and visas, issuing tickets, organising conferences, escorting clients on special interest tours, using online flight booking databases; Wintec gets you off to the ideal start to a career in the Travel Industry.
As a Travel Agent you’ll give advice on travel or holiday plans. Prepare itineraries for clients and book their accommodation, flights, cruises and tours. You’ll also issue tickets, collect payment, organise conferences and help with visas, passports, insurance and other travel documentation.
Tour Guides escort people on sightseeing and special interest tours. Your days will involve arranging accommodation and meals, organising entry into museums and places of interest, providing informative and entertaining commentaries, looking after luggage, giving out written information, acting as an interpreter and often marketing future tours.
As a Tour Attraction Operator you will supervise the day to day running of a tourist attraction, greeting guests, marketing of the attraction, taking bookings and handling requests, along with dealing with accounts and record keeping.
