Midwifery

You will be the go-to for women during pregnancy, labour, birth and for several weeks after. You will provide support and advice during one of the biggest milestones in a woman’s life. As a midwife your days will be spent educating women on pregnancy, birth and parenting, organising and discussing ultrasounds and blood tests, referring to other specialists when necessary, prescribing medication for labour, examining and caring for newborn babies and advising on breastfeeding, immunisations, contraception and general mother and baby health. You will graduate with an internationally recognised qualification and the knowledge needed to own your own business as a midwife. Your study will combine theoretical knowledge with hands-on learning in real healthcare environments. You will have the chance to care for women and their babies and learn about the midwifery profession through applying classroom learning in practice. A New Brain

Our Bachelor of Music and Performing Arts Year 3 Theatre students present A New Brain, with music and lyrics by William Finn and book by Finn and James Lapine.

This is a show about making the most out of life in the face of tragedy, when a neurotic, frustrated composer is confronted with a terminal illness. The show is in fact William Finn’s autobiographical account of his own battle for life when he was afflicted with a seemingly terminal illness. As the central character, Gordon Michael Schwinn struggles to survive, he finds salvation in the healing power of art.
