My name is Koroheke, and I am a Kaiāwhina from Te Kete Kōnae (TKK) Māori and Pasifika student support here at Wintec.
My role is to provide non-academic support, which includes both pastoral and holistic support to our students. This can range from emotional support, budgeting, financial, or housing. I can also aid you with connecting to other Māori and Pasifika ethnic groups throughout the campus and providing a listening ear if you need it. I am here to support you during your learning journey.
I come from a social work background. I have served in the social service sector, working in Kaupapa Māori services, working in Alcohol & Drugs (AOD), elderly, Te Ao Māori, and education. I am passionate about working alongside individual’s in the hope to improve their quality of life and eliminate the stereotypical attitude towards males around the ‘harden-up culture’ of not expressing their feelings.
I am blessed to be in this space, and you can find me at the TTK office in the City Campus Hub. If you see me around, please come and say Hi.
