Janelle Chitty

Student Advisor – Careers

Contact info

Kia ora, my name is Janelle Chitty, and I am the Student Careers Advisor here at Wintec. My previous roles in both Government services and primary education prove my love for working with people. I enjoy celebrating success and diversity, and I am very passionate about helping and guiding others to achieve their full potential.

I have worked as a recruitment advisor and in work search support which involved helping people identify their goals and skills to become work-ready, educating them on how to look for work, and networking within the labour market.

I have a degree in Education Studies and Psychology from the University of Waikato and have completed a wide range of other training and qualifications, including Employment Support and Te Ahu o te Reo Māori; Te Rekamauroa.

It is the best feeling knowing that I have helped someone get one step closer to their goal! I love the people here at Wintec; the tauira and staff have such an awesome vibe. The support available to tauira is amazing; we love what we do and are always finding new ways to help.

I can assist with a range of things, from looking over your CV or Cover Letter to being a soundboard around your career and employment options. Keep an eye out for career-ready workshops around the campuses too.

Please feel free to get in touch! I look forward to working with you.
