Why have a smoke free campus?

The decision to go smoke free is to do our best to reduce the risk of ill health from exposure to indirect tobacco smoke for those who don’t smoke, and by offering smoke free cessation support and advice to those who wish to give up smoking and to help create a safe and healthy smoke free environment.

Other reasons include the national trend towards smoke free environments in the workplace; many Polytechnics and Universities have either gone smoke free, or will be going smoke free in 2011.

Another benefit to all who visit Wintec will be the reduction in tobacco waste product around campus.
