Prescription
People credited with this unit standard are able to: demonstrate knowledge of learning processes; produce a plan to achieve identified learning outcomes; and implement the plan. The learning programme, to which this unit standard relates, spans at least six weeks, whether full or part-time; and requires demonstration of progress, and demonstration of behaviours which indicate learning ownership.

Outcome 1 Demonstrate knowledge of learning processes.
Evidence requirements

1.1 Factors that affect learning are described in terms of how they affect learning processes.
Range factors may include but are not limited to - environmental (social and/or physical), physiological, psychological, biological;
evidence of three factors is required.

1.2 Behaviours that indicate aspects of learning ownership are described in terms of how they affect learning processes.

Range aspects may include but are not limited to - commitment, self-esteem, motivation, lifelong learning.

Outcome 2 Identify learning outcomes in a learning programme and produce a plan to achieve them.
Evidence requirements

2.1 Learning outcomes for the learning programme are identified and described in measurable terms.

2.2 Milestones by which progress is to be measured are identified in the plan.

2.3 Considerations are identified in the plan.

Range considerations include - own needs, the learning environment, available resources, any constraints, any assessment requirements.

2.4 Actions to be taken, including reviews of progress, are stated and recorded in the plan.

Outcome 3 Implement the plan and describe progress.
Evidence requirements

3.1 The plan milestones are met.

3.2 Behaviours that indicate learning ownership are demonstrated during implementation of the plan.
Range may include but are not limited to - identified behaviours.

3.3 Factors and behaviours that influenced progress are described in terms of their impact on meeting the learning outcomes.
