Content
-Busbar construction in terms of types, materials and profiles and mechanical arrangements
-Principles of instrument transformers and their use for metering purposes
-Load assessment and control of electrical installations, terms and calculations
-Load control systems and methods for given load types
-Data network terminology
-Data network models
-Features of data network hardware and cabling
-Installation requirements and precautions relating to data communication cables
-Termination procedures for data communication cables
-Standard commissioning procedures and documentation used to manage significant electrical installations
-Commissioning schedules and documentation, progress reporting
-Communication with stakeholders to determine design requirements
Teaching and Learning Strategy
The primary methods of delivering the learning material is Inquiry and Project-based Learning. The teaching and learning material may incorporate workshop activities, laboratory tasks, lectures, online research, training videos, tutor directed learning, student managed learning, work-based projects and experience, individual and group work.

Assessments will be formal, in the form of written examinations, assignments and project reports.

Regular feedback to students will be provided including assessment results.
Assessment Criteria
Portfolio of evidence100
Assessment in this module is mixed mode. The portfolio is comprised of multiple components. To pass this module, the student must complete and submit all components and gain a mark of at least 50 for each achievement-based component within the portfolio. Students must also meet all of the requirements of the competency-based tasks to be eligible for a final grade for this module. The final grade will be based on the marks achieved in the achievement-based tasks.
