- Describe the care of common New Zealand companion animals to ensure a positive state of welfare.
Demonstrate basic handling, restraint and home-based health procedures of common companion animals.
Identify common signs of abnormal animal behaviour.

- Learning will facilitated using a range of teaching and learning methods, which may include:

- Assessment in this module is mixed mode. Students must gain a minimum mark of 50% in the achievement-based assessments and meet all requirements of the competency-based assessments to pass this module. The final grade will be based on the marks for the achievement-based assessment tasks.
