- On completion of this course the student will be able to:
1.Define site difficulties and complexities and set parameters for a project.
2.Research and distinguish design priorities and develop relevant and reasonable conclusions within the parameters set.
3.Develop appropriate design solutions for a site where a wide range of users and activities need to be considered.
4.Prepare and present a design and installation proposal, with full documentation including but not limited to
Master plan
Photographs/illustrations
Planting plan
Construction and/or perspective drawings
Landscape reporting
Specifications for part or all of a landscape contract (including notification of any consent
Breakdown of installation costing

- Problems associated with a difficult sites (e.g. access, budget, contour, drainage, dry sites, heritage sites, pollution, shade, shape, soil - peat soils, clay shrinkage, etc).
Difficult site design.
Effective graphics, lettering, report and plan layout.
Collecting information from offsite sources;
Council and local bodies
Surveys, maps and reports
Museums and local libraries
Community societies and groups. - Teaching and Learning Strategy
- Teaching and learning methods will include theory classes, tutorial sessions, practical sessions, group projects, written assignments, oral & practical and written tests.
- Basic of Assessment
- Students must attempt and complete all assignments of the course.
Students should attain a mark of 50 or above in their overall grade to obtain a pass. - Learning and Teaching Resource
