To evaluate the normal development of behaviour in young animals, including the relationship of this to the recognition, treatment and prevention of common companion and production animal behaviour problems.
Students completing this module will: recognise common behavioural problems in a range of companion and production animals and the origins of these problems; be able to discuss treatment options and various methods of prevention; be able to advise and assist with treatment and prevention methods including setting up a puppy preschool or a kitten kindy and be able to determine when it is appropriate to refer clients to behavioural specialists.
