- On completion of this module students will be able to:
1. Identify the philosophical assumptions underpinning various health research methods and
designs in the political and social context of the current health environment.
2. Demonstrate an understanding of the concepts and skills required for the analysis and
interpretation of qualitative research reports.
3. Demonstrate an understanding of the concepts and skills required in the analysis and
interpretation of quantitative research reports.
4 Describe how practice can be informed by investigation, exploration, problem-solving and

- Teaching strategies and learning methods will include lectures, tutorials, workshops and online learning.

- A list of current readings will be provided on Moodle. However students are expected to read widely.
- Assessment Criteria
- Students must meet all the requirements of the competency based assessment tasks to be eligible for a final grade for this module. The final grade will be on the basis of the marks from the achievement based tasks. All assessments must be attempted and submitted. Failure to do so will result in a 'fail' for the paper.
