In this module the student will investigate the microbiology of food and water including food spoilage and food borne illnesses, food preservation, food fermentations and the use of micro organisms for the manufacture of food and other products.This module also includes hygiene and sanitation and HACCP. Water topics include water quality, the Resource Managment Act, water and waste water treatment, water contaminants and methods used to analyse waters.
