Learning Outcomes
Following the satisfactory completion of this module students will be able to:

1. Work collaboratively in a team to plan a group presentation
2. Verbally present a topic using appropriate content, structure, language and delivery
techniques; evaluate the delivery
3. Research a topic using oral, visual and written sources; evaluate the process
4. Demonstrate the use of library skills in assignments preparation
5. Use technology as a tool for enhancing study, assignment preparation and presentation

Level 2, Level 4 and Health Level 4
- Meeting guidelines/procedures- Identification of own role in a team
- Team roles and responsibilities- Differences: of opinion, culture, gender
- Cultural values - Reaching consensus
- Facilitation of group discussion- Delivery techniques for oral presentations
- Questioning Skills - Verbal and non-verbal communication
- Listening Skills - Presenting information accurately (written and oral)
- Research Skills - Understanding assignment questions
- Locating information - Writing concisely
- Collecting Information - Fact versus opinion
- Organising Information - Summarising
- Library skills - Paraphrasing
- Evaluating the research process- Team oral presentations

Level 4 and Health Level 4
- Content, structure, language of oral text
- Using primary and secondary resources
- Body language: gesture, facial expression, stance, eye contact, movement.
- Language features eg words, grammar, style, register
- Linking of ideas through sequencing of introduction, body, conclusion
- Use of voice: pitch, pace, volume, rhythm, pause, intonation, emphasis
- Using visual aids: video, OHT, PowerPoint slides
