This module explores the contribution that Kapahaka-Maori Performing Arts have made to preserve the identity and cultural value of the Maori people, the economy and tourism of New Zealand and the arena for professional entertainment and Maori cultural competitions. Students will be given an overview of the history of Kapahaka from pre-European times to the present foscusing on entertainment and competitive works.
