1: Perform financial calculations by selecting and applying credit and cash transactions for a
business using appropriate technologies and/or processes to support operational activities,
to comply with Business Internal controls

2: Use the appropriate source documents for relevant business activities

3: Demonstrate the operation of computerised accounts receivables and payables, producing
relevant reports for business purposes

4: Demonstrate professional and ethical behaviour

- Document cycle
- Business documents and process including banking, receipts, invoices, purchase orders,
credit notes, petty cash, stationery/office supplies, Eftpos, credit card, reconciliation
- Business activities; Cash received by the business, Cash paid by the business, Petty cash
payments, Business giving credit to customer, Business receiving credit from a supplier
- MYOB accounting package

- Soft skills including working in a team, managing self, professional and ethical behaviour,
problem solving, decision making
Teaching and Learning Strategy
Teaching methods will involve theoretical and practical classes including lectures, group work, online activities, workshops, simulation, case studies, projects and guest speakers
Assessment Criteria
Assessment in this module is mixed mode. The portfolio is comprised of multiple components. To pass the module, the student must attempt any specific assessment components as specified by the Course Outline and must achieve a minimum 50% overall to pass the module.
