Learning Outcomes
1. Produce technical planting plans for a variety of landscape situations
2. Research plant availability for planting plans, and suggest alternative solutions as required.
3. Create a landscape management plan for planting design implementation and maintenance.
Content
• Client requirements, Site analysis
• Complex site situations and requirements, range; rural sections, coastal exposed section, smaller urban sections, covenant requirements over sections,
• Garden Typology planting design
• Technical drawing
• Plant schedules
• Plant Maintenance Management Plans
• Plant sourcing, Nursery availability, appropriate plant substitutions
• Cultural responsiveness, Kaitiakitanga, Maatauranga Maaori, ecology, natural heritage.
Assessment Criteria
Assessment is achievement based. Students need to attempt all elements of the assessment and gain at least 50% in each component of their portfolio to gain an overall pass.

• On-Line tutorial notes, exercises and readings, flexible, blended learning focus on content and material as projects for project based learning.
• Interactive Moodle platform.
