4:Describe different growing systems and modified environments and their impact on establishing growing plants.
5:Demonstrate knowledge of pruning methods and techniques.

- Sources of water, plant water requirements, over watering, plant growth.
Types of water application, sprinklers, mist, drip.
Methods of water conservation, mulching.
Plant location, spacings, hole size, planting process, environmental and social impacts.
Reproduction; Sexual, asexual reproduction, seeds , cuttings, divisions.
Green walls, roof gardens, raised beds, conservatories, containerised plants.
Pruning; cuts, buds, formative, corrective, fruit and flower production, pest and disease control, plant health.
Health and Safety; legislation responsibilities and rights, systems, hazard management, requirements of the legislation.

- Teaching and learning methods will be face to face delivery including workshops, project based interactive tasks, with group sessions, tutorials, practical's on-site, and the creation of portfolios of evidence.

The weight of the overall assessment is equally distributed across learning outcomes.
The portfolio of evidence will demonstrate the achievement of the required knowledge, competencies and capabilities across all the learning outcomes.
Assessment in this module is mixed mode (both Achievement and Competency based). Students must complete all pieces of assessment, achieve full competency in all competency based tasks, and gain a mark of at least 50 overall for the achievement based assessments in order to pass this module.
