This module covers the beauty therapy practical capstone assessment to demonstrate the practical skills and work readiness of the student. Students will be required to perform a range of services in a given time frame that meet the beauty therapy industry standards. The range of services will include facial electrotherapy treatments, body electrotherapy treatments, body massage, body scrubs, body wraps, figure analysis and electrolysis.

- 1. Conduct a thorough consultation to determine and recommend suitable facial treatments for clients.
2. Perform a facial electrotherapy treatment
3. Conduct a thorough consultation to determine and recommend suitable body treatments for clients

6. Perform a body scrub and a body wrap treatment
7. Perform a body massage treatment
8. Conduct a thorough consultation, analyse needs and recommend a suitable course of electrolysis treatments for clients.

- ?Core professional competencies including customer service, client consultations, retail, product and service recommendation, timing of services, safe practice in industry.
?Core practical competencies including consultation, facial electrotherapy treatments, body electrotherapy treatments, figure analysis, body massage treatments, body scrub and body wrap treatments and electrolysis.
?Professional practice – time management, professional conduct, ethical practice, client care and communication skills.
?Consultation with client, create and discuss treatment plan, recommend product and services that meet the client’s needs.
?Demonstrate underpinning knowledge of electrical currents and their effect on the skin and hair.
?Demonstrate underpinning knowledge of human body systems, relevant to beauty therapy service.
?Demonstrate underpinning knowledge of diseases and disorders and contra-indications to beauty therapy services. - Assessment Criteria
- Assessment in this module is mixed mode. To pass this module all assessments must be submitted and an overall pass mark of 50% is required. Students must also meet all the requirements of the competency-based assessment tasks. The final grade will be based on the marks from the achievement-based tasks
