- Identify types of construction drawing documentation, their purpose and typical content
Organise construction drawing documentation in accordance with typical office practise
Identify and apply drawing techniques and conventions that facilitate clear and accurate communication within construction drawing documentation
Produce sketches and technical drawings for design and construction documentation - Content
- May include, but not limited to, an appropriate selection from the following topics:
Types of construction drawing documentation: concept drawings, architectural drawings, structural drawings, working drawings. Purpose of each and typical content.
Organisation of construction drawing documentation: presentation of accepted construction drawing practice including electronic drawing systems, drawing office practice, relevant drawing standards, storage and recording systems.
Techniques for construction drawing documentation: accuracy, relevance to project, terminology and abbreviations, materials, scale and layout, drawing conventions, line weight, line type, symbols, text dimensioning, referencing. Sketches and drawings prepared and stored in accordance with workplace practice and to appropriate industry standards.
Production of construction drawing documentation: content - location, assembly, component, schedule. Drawing methods including orthographic projection. - Teaching and Learning Strategy
- Learning activities for topics may typically include practical/workshop, case studies, lectures, tutorials, field trips, group work, visiting specialists, computer simulations, web technologies, and self-directed learning.

- A portfolio is a compilation of evidence presented by the student in ways that demonstrate their acquired knowledge, competencies and capabilities.
The contents of students' portfolios may typically include evidence of achievement from assignments, projects, tests, exams, formative assessments, and peer assessments, self and group assessments.
