What are Employer Engagement Groups

Employer partnership groups are a way for businesses and community groups from each of the main industry sectors in the Waikato region to get together with Wintec to talk about key industry trends, issues and direction.

Each group has around 5 to 8 members and meets three times a year.

The purpose of the groups is to make sure that the training and education Wintec is offering its students is meeting the needs of businesses and organisations in our region.

Members give strategic advice as well as feedback on:

  • the currency and relevance of teaching
  • the employability of graduates

The Dean of Faculty at Wintec, Gaye Barton, is responsible for ensuring employer partnership groups work effectively to benefit members and their respective industries as well as Wintec students.
