Māori & Pasifika Student Profiles

Over the last four years I have been working as an Aqua Fit Instructor. Although regular training seminars were provided for instructors throughout Aotearoa/New Zealand, I felt that I needed to further develop my skills in order to give my clients the best instruction there was. I looked into different options and found that Wintec provided the programme I was looking for.

I enrolled in the School of Sport and Exercise Science and am now in my 3rd and final year towards completing the Bachelor of Sport & Exercise Science Degree. Since enrolling on this programme many opportunities and doors have opened up for me.

As a teenager school was not for me, but going back to school as an Adult Learner has made me much more aware of my capabilities and potential. I am a mother of four and believe that by returning to study that I am setting a good example for my children.
