Your Health and Wellbeing
It's important that Wintec staff get the most out of life - both at home and at work.
So Wintec offers a range of services at our on-site Wintec Health Centre to help Wintec staff stay healthy. They include:
- health checks, including blood pressure, weight and BMI readings
- subsidised flu vaccinations
- discounted GP visits
- counsellors and chaplains
- nurse visits
- massage therapy
- same-day prescription delivery service
Health Centre services are also available three days a week at our Rotokauri campus, and specialty clinics (e.g. flu vaccinations) are offered from time to time at the satellite campuses.
We've also got another great resource on site - our students! We've got well-trained dieticians, nutritionists and personal trainers on campus, willing to assist Wintec staff by offering advice and practical help on issues ranging from weight loss, to cholesterol levels to fitness regimes.
Our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), provided by an independent organisation, offers confidential and professional counselling services for all Wintec staff, regardless of location. You may choose to see an EAP professional in your own time, or seek time off during work hours.
Wintec staff have access to cheaper health insurance and can receive discounted rates at several local optometrists and dentists. Staff can also enjoy special rates at various local gyms.
And if you get sick, don't panic. Most Wintec staff receive ten days of sick leave each year. Our health and safety manager can also help with rehabilitation support as well as discussing flexible work arrangements staff may need to help them recover from illness.
