Dr Persephore de Magdalene
Dr Persephone de Magdalene is a Wintec Research Associate. She was awarded her PhD in Business Management from the University of East Anglia (UEA) in 2015, for a thesis entitled 'Capitalism with a conscience? A feminist-informed exploration of social enterprise and social entrepreneurship in the UK'. Currently working as a Project Development Manager and Associate Tutor at the UEA, Persephone's research interests broadly encompass (social) enterprise and entrepreneurship and gender, enterprise education, and employability skills among young people.
Persephone has been teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level since 2009, focusing mainly on Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management, and Management Skills and Personal Development. She has maintained an avid interest in all things entrepreneurial since participating in a Young Enterprise Scheme when she was in High School, and has managed several small businesses in the interim.
She has recently written a High School and University-based enterprise development programme for delivery across the Middle East and North Africa region, and has authored an enterprise development programme for the Brilliant Club (UK) - a national charity delivering University-style, aspiration-raising tutorial sessions to young people in non-selective state schools who aspire to entry to elite universities.
She lives in Norwich, Norfolk with her wife and two teenaged children.
