Key Dates for Graduands

Graduation is a fantastic celebration of your achievements. To ensure your experience goes to plan, please ensure you return rsvps and details by the required deadlines. You should expect the following communications, please contact us if you do not receive expected information.

DECEMBER
Check that Wintec has your correct contact details by logging on to the Student at Wintec page, or by emailing us with your new details at graduation@wintec.ac.nz.
We need your:

  • Address
  • Mobile
  • Email

Why? To invite you to graduation and ensure you receive your tickets and required information, we will need your postal address and email address. We may also text, call or email you if we are missing information or need to advise you of a change.

JANUARY
Expect to receive your invitation to graduate by Monday 30 January. You will need to return your application to graduate form, confirming:

The qualification you are receiving

Your full legal name

Your attendance or non-attendance at the ceremony

It is important you return your form by Friday 3 February whether you are attending a ceremony or not. 

FEBRUARY
Summer School: If you are attending summer school your invitation to graduate will be sent in mid February. You will receive instructions and key dates for returning your form with the letter, but this will need to be returned quickly. 

Academic Dress Hire: Regalia is available to hire or buy from Academic Dress Hire – this needs to be ordered well in advance of your ceremony and can be ordered online. Instructions on how to order regalia is available at www.academicdresswaikato.co.nz.

Graduating in absentia: If you decide not to attend a ceremony, you will receive details on when to expect your certificate.

MARCH
Guest tickets: You will receive your guest tickets and confirmation of your attendance at the ceremony if you are graduating in person.
