Ramp is pleased to open KURA : Embodied Mana Wahine by Donna Campbell. (Ngā Puhi and Ngāti Ruanui).

Donna Campbell is a practicing artist and Senior Lecturer in Creative Practice, at the Faculty of Māori and Indigenous Studies at the University of Waikato. 

Donna’s research is focused on investigating embodied Indigenous knowledge in the art forms of Māori weaving arts. Donna is a passionate practitioner in the fields of raranga and whatu, creating sculptural garments and installations.

KURA : Embodied Mana Wahine focuses on the embodiment of atua wahine in sculptural works that encase and re-present the body and the space that surrounds it. 

This exhibition is the culmination of Donna’s recent research and practice and is the creative component of a PhD from the University of Waikato.

KURA: Embodied Mana Wahine will be open at Ramp Gallery from 20 Feb - 1 March. Ramp is open and free to all, Tue - Fri 12:30-4pm or by appointment.
