- On completion of this course the student will be able to:
1. Analyse the entomological relationship insects have with amenity tree habitats.
2. Evaluate options for the management of the entomological relationship of insects and trees. - Content
- ? Pest lifecycles and methods of spread.
? Signs and symptoms of pest injury to amenity trees.
? Parts of trees damaged by pests
? Diagnosis and description of effect pests have on trees
? Related organisms beneficial to amenity trees.
? Less common, but severe, amenity tree pests.
? Identification and classification of amenity tree pests.
? Biosecurity including assessing, monitoring and managing amenity tree pests.
? Management options for amenity tree pests. - Assessment Criteria
- The portfolio is comprised of multiple components. Students need to pass all components of the portfolio with at least 50% in order to pass this module.
